Please visit the CHNEP website to learn about the materials that are available at no charge.

Due to the generosity of its financial partners, until recently the CHNEP has been able to provide all of its materials upon request at no charge. The CHNEP now has four posters, its calendar and its book Adventures in the Charlotte Harbor Watershed  that are available for a contribution to the Friends of Charlotte Harbor Estuary, Inc.

If you purchase any of these items from anyone else, you are supporting that organization or person. They received it free from the CHNEP.

Adventures in the Charlotte Harbor Watershed: A Story of Four Animals and Their Neighborhoods

— This 60-page children’s book was conceived by the CHNEP as a tool to help children better understand the natural environment of southwest Florida. Readers learn about the environment through the adventures of a yellow-crowned night-heron on the Caloosahatchee River, an alligator on the Peace River, an otter on the Myakka River and a mullet in the estuaries. Each year since 2008, the CHNEP has provided approximately 18,000 free copies of the book to the school districts in Charlotte, Desoto, Hardee, Lee, Manatee, Polk and Sarasota counties – all the counties that participate in the CHNEP. The book is available free to others as a PDF file from the website at www.CHNEP.org. The printed book is made available to others for a donation. These purchases help support the distribution of the books to the school children.

CHNEP 2011 Calendar

— In 2005, the CHNEP began creating calendars of donated images that show the beauty of the natural environment. These are available at no charge to those who receive the program's newsletter as of September 14 or who pick them up from one of our participating partners. To cover the additional cost of mailing individual calendars at other times, a contribution is required.
